Aracataca Before Macondo is a cinematic public gathering exploring the historical town that inspired Macondo. Through curated film excerpts, moderated dialogue, and a brief participatory walking reflection, the evening examines memory, myth, and the transformation of lived experience into literary imagination.

About the creator and moderator
Tim Buendía is an artist working at the intersection of cinema, cultural memory, and literary history. His work explores how lived experience becomes narrative and how narrative shapes place. He develops cinematic and public programs examining historical imagination and collective memory.
He is the creator of the Melquiades Tomb in Aracataca and moderator of Aracataca Before Macondo.
