On a morning in April, Tim aan't Goor visited Aracataca and decided to get lost in the imagination of the magical realism that resides there.
He settled in the middle of town, amidst the stories of Garcia Marquez and the adventures from the town's people. He discovered a community that adopted him as if he were a long lost son.

About the author

Tim Buendia lived in Aracataca between 2008 and 2014. He operated The Gypsy Residence; Aracataca's first bed & breakfast. He had a weekly radioshow at Macondo Stereo, built the Melquiades Tombstone, and wrote a blog for newspaper El Espectador, the one that sent Garcia Marquez to Europe, the US and LatinAmerica.
It's recommended for every single of us to get lost in the imagination of magical realism, if only it were for a day; to challenge our sense of reality, and let our change in perspective enhance our perception.

Tim Buendia got lost many years ago, and found himself in Aracataca, the legendary land of Macondo. In the gorgeous caribbean, between the mountains, the swamp, and the sea.

He now resides in the foothills of Los Angeles, California, where he continues to write poetry & prose and where he practices yoga and visits nature when he can. He travels back to Aracataca whenever he gets the chance.
